Basic Passport Information
U.S. Passports are processed at the Freeport Community Library by appointment only the following days and times:
Monday (except on holidays) 1-4pm & 6-7pm
Tuesday 1-4pm
Wednesday 1-4pm & 6-7pm
Thursday 10am-3pm
Saturday 10am-2pm
(Saturday appointments are not available from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend as the Library is closed.)

You may obtain the necessary U.S. Passport application form(s) at the Freeport Community
Library or by going on-line to http://www.travel.state.gov.
Bring the following with you to your appointment:
- A fully completed, UNsigned DS-11 form using black ink only
- One official 2" x 2" passport photo
- Your certified birth certificate
- A photo ID
- Two (2) checks: one to be made out to the US Department of State & one to be made out to the Town of Freeport
** To process a U.S. Passport application for a child under the age of 16, both parents and child must be present. If only one parent is able to be present a sworn affidavit (Form DS-3053) is required from the non-appearing parent.
Other local passport processing locations include the Brunswick Post Office and the Portland
Post Office.

Time Frames
Passports take approximately 4-6 weeks to process. You can expedite the application for an additional $60.00.
If you need a U.S. Passport within 14 days or less you will need to make an appointment and
go to one of the following passport processing centers by calling 1-877-487-2778 (a 24/7 line):
